A Peek Inside Tarina Tarantino's Carry On Bag

With her new cosmetics line set to debut at Sephora, it's a safe bet designer Tarnina Tarantino will be on the road a lot in 2010. Here's what's in her carry on bag.

I have a Samsonite black label beauty box that I bought in Italy years ago. It is so perfect because everything fits inside the boxy shape. I organize everything into my Techno Tribal cosmetic clutches  for easy access to whatever I need.

I like L’Occitane shea butter hand cream the best and Evian mini water spray for a little wake up mist after napping. My Tarina Tarantino Beauty Victorian Punk lip gloss ring (pictured below) has specially formulated Gem watergloss that keeps lips pretty and hydrated.

I always bring a cozy oversized sweater; the one I currently wear is from Theory. It has a thick cowl neck that I can pull over my head if someone sneezes in my direction. Not that it will help…..(JSG Note: We love this one from Theory.)

I am reading the memoirs of Louis Vigee Le Brun who was the most famous female French painter of the 18th century. She was a very strong amazingly creative woman who had a very dramatic life.

My guilty pleasure is that I always grab a National Enquirer to read during take off as that is my least favorite part of the flight.

I have an appropriately named “Jet Set” playlist on my iPod with artists like Charlotte Gainsbourg, Air, John Fox (for deep sleep music), Starlighter, and Royksopp.

I always have my Bose QC3 headphones, which I of course crystallized.

Cameron Diaz' Makeup at the Golden Globes

Cameron Diaz wore the perfect red lip at the 67th Golden Globes created by Chanel makeup artist Robin Fredriksz. Normally we wouldn't recommend a matching red dress; but Cameron pulled it off.

Beauty Inspiration:
"I wanted to blend my old Hollywood inspiration from the dress with the sunny California girl that is Cameron. So I paired the classic Chanel red mouth with the golden sunny California eye.”

Beauty Tip:
"I used the gold shadow from the Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Mystic Eyes in the outer corner of Cameron’s lids and crease, and then I used the darker peach and gold mixed together from Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow Quad in Demure on her lids. I lined her eye with Chanel Precision Eye Definer in Khaki Dore, and finished with Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir. On her lips she wore Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon.”

Sofia Vergara's Hair at the Golden Globes

Sofia Vergara is hilarious on "Modern Family" which is our favorite new show this fall.   She was beautiful at last night's Golden Globes wearing a Carolina Herrara gown and a soft wavy hair style.

Oscar Blandi created her look by first priming Sofia's wet hair with Oscar Blandi Volumizing Spray then blowing it dry and pinning pieces around the crown of her head and the nape of her neck. Oscar used a medium barrel curling iron to create soft waves and finished the look with Oscar Blandi Lacca Hairspray.

Penelope Cruz at the Golden Globes

Oh, Penelope, you can do no wrong.  Even Joan couldn't find a flaw with you on Fashion Police-- voting you best dressed in your vintage Armani gown.

Penelope Cruz was the bright spot of Nine in a cast full of stars, just as she was on the red carpet.  Her smoky eye and neutral lip flattered her sun-kissed complexion.  And her hair:

Hairstylist Oribe gave her a classic Hollywood style: cascading, pinned back waves for a relaxed, elegant look.

Oribe used his Imperméable to shield Penelope’s hair from the day’s rain and humidity.

How To Get the Look:
1. Start by working Gel Serum through the hair and then use hot rollers or a curling iron to set the hair. Spray Imperméable or an anti-humidity spray on the hair before using the curling iron to help protect the style and prevent frizz.
2. Brush loose curls into place
3. Accentuate the wave in the front and make sure it is pronounced
4. Clip the hair in place and spray it with Superfine Hair Spray
5. To finish, use a bobby pin and pin the hair back on one side

January Jones' Makeup at the Golden Globes

Mad Men star January Jones drew a lot of twitter chatter about her headband.  We thought it was great and the perfect solution to the crazy rain at Sunday's Golden Globes.  There wasn't any dispute about her  lovely makeup.  Notes below from makeup artist Rachel Goodwin for Chanel:

Beauty Inspiration:
"January's Golden Globes makeup was all about taking a fresh approach to the classic red lip.”

Beauty Tip:
"I used Le Blanc de Chanel under her base to create luminous 'glowing from the inside' porcelain skin, then treated her lips with Chanel Hydramax + Active Lip Treatment before applying Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Paris - a gorgeous garnet red from a new lipstick line launching in March. I painted the finest black line on her upper lid with Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir and shaded under her eyes with Chanel Intense Eye Pencil in Graphite in the outer corners. I finished her look by layering lots of different false eyelashes then added Exceptionnel de Chanel Noir Obscur Mascara over the top for an intense black lash line."

Christina Aguilera's Makeup at the Golden Globes

Christina Aguilera looked all-around gorgeous last night at the Golden Globes from gown to hair to makeup.  Below are the secrets to getting her makeup from NARS:

“I wanted to create a soft natural look on Christina to compliment her gown and new haircut,” said Kristofer Buckle for NARS Cosmetics.  “Her dress choice was a beautiful pastel peach with silver.  I didn’t want the look to fight with her gown. The final look is chic and seamless, with a earthy colored smokey eye and glowing skin.”

Complexion:
· Use the Balancing Moisture Lotion and apply the Makeup Primer as a base
· Apply Firming Foundation and set with Pressed Powder

Eyes:
· Apply the vanilla side of India Song Duo Eyeshadow as a base, over the entire lid and up to eyebrow
· Next, use the shimmering walnut shade of India Song Duo Eyeshadow and apply to the outer corner and under the bottom lash line
· Then, use the warm rich brown side of Cordura Duo Eyeshadow just under eye rubbing into the lower lash line  to create smokey eye
· Curl the eyelashes and apply a coat of Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara to top and bottom lashes, following with 2 coats of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara for full lashes
· Take Nuits Blanches Eyeliner Stylo and dot in between individual lashes [Kristofer’s tip:“I used the Push Eyeliner Brush to blend the eyeliner in between the lashes, which helped to apply just enough without looking to heavy.”]

Lips:
· Use the Fantasia Lipliner Pencil and Niagara Lipstick
· Next, apply Easy Lover Lip Gloss (NEW for Spring 2010) over [Kristofer’s tip:“Applying a sheer pink gloss on top of a nude colored lip provides a nice modern pop of color.”]

Cheeks:
· Generously apply Orgasm Illuminator (NEW for Spring 2010) to cheekbones, décolletage, and shoulders for an all over glow
· Use Malaysia Multiple Bronzer to contour cheeks by blending under cheekbones
· Apply the Mata Hari Blush to the apple of cheeks and lightly tap on browbone [Kristoper’s tip:  “Lightly dusting a blush on the browbone gives life to the eye and melds the whole look together.”]
· Next, with short, back and forth quick strokes use Nico Blush to highlight cheekbones
